Lady Gaga took to Twitter to stand up for Cardi B, who received some backlash after winning the Grammy Award for Best Rap album on Sunday. The Invasion of Privacyrapper recently deleted her Instagram account after responding to her critics with an impassioned video. “I’m sick of this shit,” Cardi says in the now-deleted clip. “I worked hard for my mother fucking album.” Gaga, who met Cardi for the first time at Sunday’s award ceremony, defended her new friend on Twitter. She posted a photo of her meeting the rapper and wrote:
It is so hard to be a woman in this industry. What it takes, how hard we work through the disrespectful challenges, just to make art. I love you Cardi. You deserve your awards. Let’s celebrate her fight. Lift her up & honor her. She is brave. pic.twitter.com/lunY27vn3E
